The Featherstone Academy

The first school to join The Rodillian Multi Academy Trust, The Featherstone Academy is a small but lively community academy, with an inclusive culture. Since joining the Trust, The Featherstone Academy has grown from strength to strength moving from Special Measures to an Ofsted rating of Good in 2017.

Since 2017, the Academy has seen the number of students in each year group increase steadily, which is another indication of the excellent work the staff at the academy are doing to ensure all students are making progress.  The aim at The Featherstone Academy is for all students, staff, parents and carers demonstrate our 3 core values Responsibility, Aspiration and Pride, in all that they do, at all times, every day. This drive has seen a sharp increase in students obtaining a 4+ in both English and Maths since 2017 and steady improvements in progress 8.

The Featherstone Academy continues to work alongside the Trust and the other academies in the Trust to ensure we raise aspirations and attainment for all students in this small old mining community. We are at an exciting point in the academy’s journey, with clearly established expectations and a staff body with the real desire to be better.
