Rob worked for Lloyds Banking Group (“LBG”) for 37 years before retiring in 2020. Rob had a varied management career with LBG working in relationship management, credit sanctioning and turnaround management. Rob also spent a year on secondment working for Business in the Community in the Ladywood area of Birmingham seeking to forge long term links between the business and charity sectors in that area. During Rob’s time with Lloyds, he became an acknowledged specialist in the fields of education, charities, and government with a particular focus on the further education sector.
Rob has long been involved in the education of bankers working for the London Institute of Banking and Finance since 1996 as a tutor, consultant, and latterly as Chief Examiner of their Corporate and Commercial Lending module. Rob also has a long personal track record of supporting charities and voluntary organisations. In addition to the Trust he is also a Trustee of Shine at Nechells POD (a community hub charity in Birmingham) and has previously been a school governor and a Director of Wakefield District Citizens Advice Bureau service.
Rob is married to Lesley and has two children, Bethan, and Helena.
