Chair of Finance
Andy has joined the Governors at Rodillian to provide his financial experience to an already dedicated and experienced Trust Board. His main aim is to ensure all students in the Rodillian Trust leave their respective schools having had a positive school experience and maximised their academic potential.
Andy’s financial career started at the sport’s governing body, The Rugby Football League (The RFL), where he gained his professional accountancy qualification (CIMA) by studying in his own time. The small accounting team allowed him to experience all facets of accounting from management accounts, year-end accounts, cashbook reconciliations and debtors and creditor functions.
After 12 years at the RFL, it was time for a new challenge. In 2016, Andy joined the Finance Business Partnering team at Virgin Trains East Coast. His role involves creating strategic relationships with key stakeholders to provide accurate and timely reporting to the business. The job role includes:
• Partnering the On Board and People functions
• Analysing key metrics for all Food & Drink costs to inform key business decisions
• Co-lead a ‘Catering Review Board’ to generate new ideas for revenue generation and discover cost savings amongst frontline staff
• Produce cost models for any new initiatives
Andy has been married for nearly ten years and has two young girls that keep him on his toes! Interests outside of the office include sport but in particular he likes the odd round of golf and travelling using the UK and European Rail Network.
