I joined Rodillian in January 2014 on my second placement as a Trainee Maths Teacher, and absolutely fell in love with the school. The support I received from my mentors and host teachers was amazing.

I also had the freedom to observe teachers in various departments to help improve my practice. I loved how I could just get on with the teaching, as the foundation had already been laid and students behaved in an excellent manner.

I went on to secure a job in my NQT year. During this year, there were loads of training programmes on different aspects of teaching to improve your pedagogy. This also gave me the opportunity to meet fellow NQTs from across the Multi Academy Trust to share ideas on our teaching experiences.

I can honestly say that Rodillian is one of the best schools to work for. It is a place where hard work is rewarded immensely – and on completion of my NQT year, I managed to get a position with the teaching and learning responsibility of a Leader and Data Assessment in the Maths department.

This goes to show that it doesn’t matter how much experience you’ve got – if you work hard at Rodillian, your efforts would be recognised and you will be rewarded accordingly. In addition, there are a lot of opportunities across the MAT if you are looking to progress in your career.
